BEST 5 ACTION ANIME

  1. Gintama

Gintama is only only one of the best action anime out there, but also one of the best and most popular anime series of all time. Like One-Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, the sprawling Gintama franchise is a bombastic blend of action, comedy, and wacky, character-driven stories. The anime also has three movies to its name. In the alternate timeline of Gintama, invading aliens outlawed swords in Edo-era Japan, but protagonist Gintoki Sakata wields blades anyway, and he's something of a mercenary, too. He and his best friends will embark on wild, exciting adventures of goofy comedy and thrilling action, all while paying satirical homage to shonen classics like Dragon BallNarutoBleach, and One Piece. All that makes Gintama one of the best action anime of all, with only for industry titans ranking even higher in fans' minds.

  1. Naruto

helped define an entire generation of shonen action anime with his Naruto manga, which has become a staple of the demographic. Naruto tells the heartfelt story of the ostracized orphan Naruto Uzumaki, who will overcome his village's hatred for him and become a powerful, great, and respected ninja no matter what. What follows is an extraordinary zero-to-hero action story as Naruto Uzumaki and his teammates save the day again and again as ninja heroes, and all the while, Naruto expands its cast of characters, combat system, and worldbuilding to an impressive degree. The series' clever, inventive jutsu combat system and smart fighters will provide some of the best action scenes fans have ever seen, from Shikamaru's genius tactics in battle to Naruto's use of Shadow Clones and the Rasengan.

  1. Dragon Ball

The late Akira Toriyama worked wonders to establish the modern shonen action formula with his iconic Dragon Ball franchise, starting in the 1980s. Mr. Toriyama blended martial arts, comedy, Chinese folk tales, and even science fiction to create an action story unlike any other, and his influence is clear in many modern works, from himbo male leads to characters powering up into new forms. The overall Dragon Ball saga is an ongoing tale about Son Goku, the Saiyan hero who fights to defend his adopted homeworld Earth and other planets from the forces of evil, including Frieza, Cell, and even his fellow Saiyans or warriors from other universes, like Jiren. Many of Dragon Ball's fights anad story arcs are the stuff of legend, from the Tournament of Power to Goku's epic struggle against Frieza's many forms on Namek.

  1. One Piece

Author Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga One Piece has become the best-selling manga of all time, and the anime isn't far behind. The lengthy, epic One Piece anime is the unforgettable story of protagonist Monkey D. Luffy's quest to explore the high seas as a pirate and become pirate king once he claims the fabled One Piece treasure for himself. If any anime fans don't have the patience for the One Piece anime, they can try the One Piece live action series on Netflix. It's the first truly great anime adaptation, repackaging the original story in a leaner narrative that anyone, even non-anime fans, can enjoy. The story is also reaching its long-awaited climax in the Final Saga, so now is a great time for new fans to dive in and see what all the fuss is about.

  1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009-2010) is an alternate version of the previous Fullmetal Alchemist (2003-2004) anime. Brotherhood is often considered the superior series, mainly because it's faithful to Hiromu Arakawa's original manga and completes the entire story. This action anime — also falling under the military, adventure, comedy, drama, magic, fantasy, and shounen genres. Overall, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood's winning combination of deep themes, great production values, cool characters, and resonant messages make it the best action anime ever made.
