The Marines are one of the most powerful factions in the world of One Piece. Among them, Kuzan, formerly known as Admiral Aokiji, was a significant figure. After losing the battle for Fleet Admiral, Kuzan left the Marines and later aligned himself with Blackbeard, becoming one of the Ten Titanic Captains. Kuzan possesses the power of the Ice-Ice Fruit, a Logia-type Devil Fruit, which allows him to generate, manipulate, and transform into ice. His strength, combined with his mastery of Haki, makes him one of the strongest characters in One Piece. However, there are a few characters in the One Piece universe who have the power to defeat him.

Most of the characters who can challenge Kuzan are pirates, many of whom also possess Devil Fruits. Even a few high-ranking World Nobles might have the capability to take him down. Thanks to the Ice-Ice Fruit, non-Haki attacks are ineffective against Kuzan, but these characters can bypass his Logia intangibility with their Haki.

8. Prime Gol D. Roger

Gol D. Roger, the legendary Pirate King, held his title briefly before his demise. Despite suffering from an incurable illness, Roger remained an unstoppable force. Though he didn’t possess a Devil Fruit, Roger wielded Ace, one of the world's 12 Supreme Grade Blades, and could use all three types of Haki, including advanced forms of Armament and Conqueror's Haki. Even in his weakened state, Roger was able to overpower formidable opponents like Kozuki Oden and match the strength of Prime Whitebeard. Given that Kuzan struggled against an older Garp, a battle with Prime Roger would likely end with Kuzan being defeated by a single powerful Divine Departure attack.

7. Yamato

Yamato, Kaido’s son, is not a ruthless warlord like his father but a kind-hearted individual who seeks to protect Wano. Yamato inherited immense physical strength, enough to match Luffy’s and to knock out an Ancient Zoan user like Ulti with a single strike. Yamato also possesses the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami, a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to generate and control ice. This power makes Yamato uniquely suited to counter Kuzan’s ice-based attacks. By the end of the Wano Arc, Yamato demonstrated his ability to injure Admiral-level opponents with a combination of Armament and Conqueror’s Haki.

6. Boa Hancock

Boa Hancock, captain of the Kuja Pirates and the only female Warlord of the Sea, wields the Love-Love Fruit. This Paramecia-type Devil Fruit allows her to turn others to stone if they harbor lustful feelings toward her. Remarkably, Haki does not reverse the petrification. Hancock’s power can also petrify her opponents through projectiles and physical blows, making her a formidable adversary. Given that she can use all three types of Haki, Hancock can strike Kuzan with physical attacks. If she manages to bypass his Logia defense, Hancock could gradually turn Kuzan to stone while avoiding his freezing attacks.

5. Trafalgar Law

A prominent member of the Worst Generation, Law gained recognition as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea before forming an alliance with Luffy. His power comes from the Op-Op Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to manipulate anything within a spherical area he creates. Law could avoid Kuzan’s attacks by teleporting or swapping places with other objects. While Kuzan could counter Law’s dismembering technique with Haki, Law has other tricks up his sleeve. With seastone handcuffs, Law could neutralize Kuzan’s Devil Fruit powers, allowing him to deliver critical internal damage or douse him with seawater, negating the Ice-Ice Fruit entirely.

4. Monkey D. Luffy

When Luffy first encountered Kuzan, he was easily frozen. At that time, Luffy had no mastery of Haki or Devil Fruit Awakening. Now, Luffy can wield all three types of Haki and their advanced forms. His Gear 5 transformation, which allows him to fight with boundless creativity, is capable of overpowering even Kaido and Admirals like Kizaru. With Gear 5, Luffy could treat Kuzan’s ice like rubber, nullifying his territorial advantage. A single Gomu Gomu no Bajrang Gun attack, infused with advanced Armament and Conqueror’s Haki, was powerful enough to defeat Kaido, and Kuzan would likely suffer the same fate if struck directly.

3. Shanks

Shanks, a former apprentice of the Roger Pirates, is now the longest-serving Yonko and one of the most feared pirates despite lacking a Devil Fruit. His strength lies in his unparalleled mastery of Haki, including advanced techniques. Shanks can negate Observation Haki with his advanced Conqueror’s Haki, making it difficult for Kuzan to anticipate his moves. His Armament Haki is strong enough to block Akainu’s magma, so it could withstand Kuzan’s ice as well. With a single Haki-infused slash, Shanks took out Eustass Kid and Killer, showing that Kuzan’s Logia abilities would be ineffective against his strikes.

2. Blackbeard

Blackbeard, who became a Yonko after Whitebeard’s death, is the only known person to wield two Devil Fruits. His Dark-Dark Fruit allows him to create and control darkness, which can absorb and nullify all of Kuzan’s ranged attacks. This Devil Fruit can also nullify other Devil Fruits when Blackbeard physically touches the user. With his Armament Haki, Blackbeard can definitely make contact with Kuzan. He also possesses the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, which can generate destructive quakes that would destroy Kuzan’s internal organs once his Logia powers are neutralized.

1. The Five Elders

The Five Elders, the highest-ranking Celestial Dragons, are the true power behind the World Government, serving under the mysterious Imu. Despite their age, the Elders are incredibly powerful, each possessing awakened Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits and advanced Conqueror’s Haki. They also have high-speed regeneration abilities, making them virtually unfreezable. Saint Saturn’s telekinesis could immobilize Kuzan, while Saint V. Nusjuro’s Haki-infused blade could strike him down. Saint Ju Peter could devour him, and Saint Warcury could disrupt his Logia powers with a Haki-empowered roar. Meanwhile, Saint Mars could bombard Kuzan with piercing energy beams from the air.
