BAL KRISHNA'S MIRACLE WITH THE FRUIT SELLER

BAL KRISHNA'S MIRACLE WITH THE FRUIT SELLER

The enchanting story of Bal Krishna and the fruit seller is a beautiful reminder of the rewards of compassion and selfless love. This tale, especially cherished during Janmashtami, reflects the divine nature of Krishna, even in his playful childhood. Let’s explore how an innocent barter turned into a miraculous blessing.

The Fruit Seller’s Visit to Bal Krishna’s House

One day, while Bal Krishna was eagerly waiting for his mother to finish churning butter, a familiar sound reached his ears—a fruit seller approaching their home. Krishna, with his wide, innocent eyes, watched the scene unfold with great curiosity.

His father, Nandraj, noticed the woman and invited her inside. The moment she entered, the sweet fragrance of her ripe mangoes filled the entire house. Being a generous man, Nandraj asked, “How much for a basket full of mangoes?”

The fruit seller, humbled by Nandraj’s kindness, responded, “A half basket of grain.” Overwhelmed by the generous offer, she gratefully accepted the grain, marveling at Nandraj’s magnanimity as she handed over a basket brimming with fresh mangoes.

The Innocence of Bal Krishna

Little Krishna observed the entire exchange and, with the innocence only a divine child could possess, decided to trade grains for mangoes himself. He quickly dashed inside, grabbed a tiny handful of grains, and rushed back to the fruit seller.

With his deep, dark eyes and his hair adorned with a peacock feather, Bal Krishna stood before the woman, offering his small fistful of grains in exchange for some mangoes. The fruit seller, touched by his innocence and charm, happily gave him plenty of mangoes, placing his grains in her basket.

The Divine Reward

As Krishna joyfully pranced around with his mangoes, his parents couldn’t help but laugh at their playful son. However, the fruit seller soon discovered something extraordinary. The modest handful of grains had transformed into a basket full of gold and jewels!

Stunned by this miraculous turn of events, the fruit seller realized that the child she had just interacted with was no ordinary boy. When she looked at Bal Krishna, she understood that he was none other than Lord Krishna himself, the divine incarnate.
