The temple's darshan (viewing) is conducted in a unique manner, with the curtains closing and opening every few minutes to protect the delicate deity from the intense gaze of the devotees.

7. Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi

Founded by the saint Madhvacharya in the 13th century, Udupi Sri Krishna Matha is a major center for the Dvaita school of Vedanta. The temple is unique in that devotees view the deity through a nine-holed window known as the Navagraha Kitiki.
